In Japan there is a legend that anyone who folds one thousand paper cranes will have their wishes realized. This anthology uses origami paper cranes as a way for some of India’s best-known writers and poets to forma shared civic space for a conversation about the fault lines in India at this current time of darkness. Samrat’s contribution to this collection is a short non fiction story, in the form of a travelogue, of a journey to the site in Hiroshima in Japan where the first atomic bomb was dropped, with his friend Aziz from Gilgit Baltistan in what is called Pakistan Occupied Kashmir by India, and Azad Kashmir by Pakistan.
